What new-build homes in Jacksonville usually need
Just closed on a new home in Nocatee, Bartram Park, Oakleaf, Yulee or St. Johns? Here's what new builds usually come without and what to set up first.
New construction homes across Northeast Florida, from Nocatee and Bartram Park to Oakleaf, Eagle Landing, Wildlight and Yulee, come with a lot done for you. But builders leave out the things that make a house feel finished, and that list looks almost the same in every new neighborhood.
What builders usually leave off
- TV mounts and wire hiding
- Blinds or curtain rods on most windows
- Towel bars and bathroom hooks in some models
- Shelving in the garage and closets
- A video doorbell and outdoor cameras
- Mesh Wi-Fi for two-story or larger floor plans
Do this before your furniture arrives
It's much easier to mount TVs and hang blinds in an empty room. If you can, book your setup visit for the day before the movers, or the same morning.
Builder warranty
Keep a list of anything that looks like a construction issue, like nail pops, sticking doors or gaps in trim, and report it to your builder during your warranty window. Small things we add, like mounts and shelves, don't affect your builder warranty.
One visit for the whole list
Our move-in bundle covers two TVs mounted, three furniture items and two handyman hours for $499, with seven hours of work included. It's built for exactly this.
